Plastic Surgery and Hair Restoration
Dr. Jakub Miszczyk, plastic surgeon in spe from Warsaw, Poland. During early medical studies in 2014, he got enrolled in a fellowship at UAB in USA, visiting Professor Louis Vasconez who is a pioneer in endoscopic facial rejuvenation. This fellowship had a great influence on Dr Miszczyk’s professional path, causing him to focus on facial plastic surgery. As a student he has conducted numerous studies concerning basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma in the head and neck region and presented outcomes during international medical conferences. He has also conducted studies concerning venous drainage of the face tissues and the anatomy of the superficial inferior epigastric artery at the Department of Anatomy, Medical University of Warsaw, where he has also been teaching younger students during their course of anatomy. Dr Miszczyk is an author of numerous scientific articles, published in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Annals of Plastic Surgery among others. After completing medical studies and postgraduate training in 2017 he has been enrolled at plastic surgery residency training at Department of Plastic Surgery, Prof. W. Orlowski Memorial Hospital, Medical Centre for Postgraduate Education, Warsaw, Poland. Dr Miszczyk now works at Dr Szczyt Clinic – the most renowned private aesthetic surgery clinic in Poland, where he performs aesthetic procedures. Apart from facial plastic surgery Dr Miszczyk specializes in hair restoration. Being trained in Brussels by Dr Jean Devroye, he performs full range of hair reconstruction procedures.
Dr Miszczyk believes that future of plastic surgery lies in regenerative medicine and only by combining surgical treatments with cell therapies we can achieve the optimal results. He often uses mesenchymal stem cells in everyday clinical practice. Dr. Miszczyk is a strong advocate for adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells to treat hair loss. He has shared his techniques and experiences as a lecturer for FUE Europe and The Global Hair Loss Summit, which became the widest attended webinar devoted to surgical, non-surgical, and regenerative medicine focused on treating hair loss.
